Added<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> <\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">comes that everyone&#8217;s life has changed a lot in the last decades. In the past, one went to work, came home, went<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">maybe <\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">to the soccer club <\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">or<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> to the pub and then it started all over again. Nowadays, however, the lives of most people are much more flexible. This is made possible, among other things, by the increasingly widespread &#8220;New Work&#8221; thinking among companies. But despite all the possibilities, it is still a major challenge for many to use their time as efficiently as possible, both privately and professionally, without overworking themselves. <\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Two models that have stood out in recent years in addressing this problem are the ideas of work-life balance and work-life integration<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. <\/span> <span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335551550\":6,\"335551620\":6,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":360}\" data-wac-het=\"1\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">What <\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">is <\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">W<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ork-Life-<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Balance<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">?<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335551550\":6,\"335551620\":6,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":360}\" data-wac-het=\"1\"> <\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>Work-Life Balance<\/strong><\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> is<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> finding a balance between private and professional life on the part of both the employer and the employee.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> of the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> employee<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Work and private life are strictly separated from each other. <\/span> <span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335551550\":6,\"335551620\":6,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":360}\" data-wac-het=\"1\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">What is <\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Work-Life Integration<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">? <\/span><\/b> <span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335551550\":6,\"335551620\":6,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":360}\" data-wac-het=\"1\"> <\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>Work-life integration<\/strong>, in contrast to work-life balance, means that work-life and private life are combined in an integrative way and are not two separate areas.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335551550\":6,\"335551620\":6,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":360}\" data-wac-het=\"1\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">What is the idea behind the term <\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">work-life balance<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">? <\/span><\/b> <span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335551550\":6,\"335551620\":6,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":360}\" data-wac-het=\"1\"> <\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The idea behind <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Work-Life Balance<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> model is that work and private time are not mixed. On the one hand, this should make work more productive, since, for example, no private mails are checked during work. On the other hand, private life <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">should also be protected by leaving work<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> behind<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">when you leave the office. You are then no longer available for professional matters. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Among other things, this is to avoid working unnoticed overtime at home and overworking oneself. Instead, the employee should take sufficient rest periods <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">nd<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">thus productively resume work the next day.<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\"> <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335551550\":6,\"335551620\":6,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":360}\" data-wac-het=\"1\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Where are the problems with the term <\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">work-life balance<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">? <\/span><\/b> <span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335551550\":6,\"335551620\":6,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":360}\" data-wac-het=\"1\"> <\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The problem with work-life balance is that it is very difficult to implement in reality. It often happens that work doesn&#8217;t necessarily come up when you&#8217;re actually sitting in the office. So it <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">happens<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">quite often that you have done your part of the work and for the next steps<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">you have<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">to wait for the ok from the colleague. But since working hours dictate that you have to be in the office until 5 p.m., it&#8217;s usually just do the time. As a result, the employee loses time that could be used productively elsewhere. Likewise, unavoidable private appointments, such as doctor&#8217;s or craftsman&#8217;s appointments, are often difficult to implement during the day. Those who have to do this during working hours usually have to take half a day or even a whole day off work,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">rather than simply shifting the missing hours to early morning or late work. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Moreover, very few people can leave work behind from one moment to the next. Unsolved problems, a tricky task, the answer to an important mail&#8230; all this can keep you busy &#8211; at least in your mind &#8211; even after work, so that it&#8217;s impossible to switch off anyway. Added<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">comes that not everyone has the same biorhythm. While some prefer to work in the morning, others prefer to work during the day. Again<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">others prefer to work in the evening or even late at night. Especially in creative processes<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">this can have a significant impact on an employee&#8217;s performance. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335551550\":6,\"335551620\":6,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":360}\" data-wac-het=\"1\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">W<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">hat<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> is the idea behind the term <\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">work-life integration<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">?<\/span><\/b> <span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335551550\":6,\"335551620\":6,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":360}\" data-wac-het=\"1\"> <\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">These are precisely the problems that work-life <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">integration<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">addresses. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The model says goodbye to the idea that you really have to strictly separate work and private life. In<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">practice, this is anyway <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">hardly feasible. Instead <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the idea behind making work and thus also private life so flexible, is <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">that one can use both<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> as effectively as possible. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This makes it easy to attend private appointments or <\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">also times the sun can be enjoyed. This<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> can be done without having a guilty conscience, taking vacation or losing working time. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The pure working time is thus even <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">used more efficiently <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">because <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">your thoughts are not elsewhere and <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">time in the office because there is nothing to do at the moment. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The aim is not to increase stress levels, but to <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">be lowered.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Especially the <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">so-called mille<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">n<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">nials <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">work-life integration<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> approach. They are increasingly calling for new ways of working instead of <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a 9 <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">to<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> 5 job. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Flexibility is just as important to them as a sense of purpose behind their work and this <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">demand is fulfilled by w<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ork-life integration<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. <\/span> <span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335551550\":6,\"335551620\":6,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":360}\" data-wac-het=\"1\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">What are the problems with the term <\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Work-Life Integration<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">?<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335551550\":6,\"335551620\":6,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":360}\" data-wac-het=\"1\"> <\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The concept of work-life balance also presents some problems. On the one hand, it can quickly happen that bosses consciously or unconsciously take advantage of the situation. For example, some bosses demand more from their employees than <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">they<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> can afford and still submit projects in the evening, for example, with a deadline until <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the next morning<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. Second, work-life integration is not for everyone. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">some<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">thing While some have problems with self-organization and self-motivation, others have exactly the opposite problem. They are too motivated and committed and thus work significantly too much. Many have the mindset that yes, they can just do it quickly. Others feel they haven&#8217;t done enough work for the day. In addition, the model offers <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Work-life integration<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> does not apply to every profession. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Furthermore, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmas.de\/DE\/Service\/Gesetze\/arbeitsschutzgesetz.html\">Occupational Health and Safety Act<\/a> and thus the observance of sufficient rest breaks between working hours must be observed.<\/span> <span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335551550\":6,\"335551620\":6,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":360}\" data-wac-het=\"1\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">What it takes<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> for <\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Work-Life Integration<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> work? <\/span><\/b> <span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335551550\":6,\"335551620\":6,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":360}\" data-wac-het=\"1\"> <\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Work-life integration can only work if both employer and employee want it or are willing to engage in it. For example, the employer cannot require its employee to be available at all times. The other way around<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\"> an employee cannot simply arrange his working hours as it is best for him. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">best for him<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> without discussing it with his boss. Therefore, it is important, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">that fixed rules are defined in advance and appropriate tools are set up. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For example, it must be clear which meetings the employee has to attend, deadlines must be clearly communicated and work processes must be planned in such a way that, on the one hand, all files can be accessed online and, on the other hand, work at home in the evening does not fail because colleagues have to be involved but are no longer available or are struggling with processes due to their own unavailability. <\/span> <span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335551550\":6,\"335551620\":6,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":360}\" data-wac-het=\"1\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Where are the benefits for employees? <\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335551550\":6,\"335551620\":6,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":360}\" data-wac-het=\"1\"> <\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The advantages for <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Employees are as numerous as they are diverse. A satisfied and efficient <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">employee is <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">is much more valuable to a company than someone who sits in the office for 40 hours a day, but for various reasons is unable to reach his or her potential. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">On the one hand, this increases the productivity of the company, and on the other hand, it also increases satisfaction within the team. <\/span> <span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335551550\":6,\"335551620\":6,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":360}\" data-wac-het=\"1\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Work-Life Integration<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> can thus<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">pay a valuable contribution to a better, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">happier and more efficient working environment.
